Thanks for your interest. I’m working with a local printing company to figure out how to best print the templates. Once I get that figured out I’ll make it available.
look forward to sieneg pics of the finished article! we’re in the process of moving house can’t wait to be in the new place so I can get crafty again Finished my first full size quilt a few weeks ago and already thinking of things I’d do differently! Do you do your own quilting? If so what sort of machine do you use and are you able to free motion or straight lines?
Hi, I think your sock monkey quilt it just adorable! I would love to buy the pattern from you, do you know how long until you will have the pattern available ? Lorie Fisher
hey.. im watching your videos to help me make a baby tee shirt quilt.. so im thinking the 6×6 square… but do you think i should block each of them (6×6)or make them all into 12×12 blocks…
I would cut your squares to 6 1/2 inches so they finish at 6 inches. Then cut your sashing to 6 1/2 by 2 inches, so it finishes at 6 by 1 1/2 inches. Your cornerstones will be cut to 2 inch squares and finish at 1 1/2 inch squares. That will be a more appropriate size for your 6 inch blocks.
You u tube videos are great! I have purchased material for my daughter and I to make a t shirt quilt. In the sashing video you state there is help on how much sashing to cut. However I have not located on the web site. Can you please guide me? Many thanks
Here’s a link to the fabric requirements: http://quiltaddictsanonymous.com/2011/10/t-shirt-quilt-fabric-requirement/
And here’s a link to a chart on how much sashing you need depending on how many shirts you have in your quilt: http://quiltaddictsanonymous.com/2011/11/t-shirt-quilt-tutorial-sewing-sashing/
Where can I get the pattern for the sock monkey quilt? Love it.
I’m writing the pattern now and have a tester lined up. Once everything is ready, then I’ll post a PDF here.
Can you let me know how wide to cut the strips for the cornerstones?
The cornerstone strip is cut 3″ by the width of fabric.
I forgot to mention that it is the T shirt quilt I need to know the width to cut the cornerstone strips.
Will the finished quilt have a border between the sashing and binding?
Which quilt are you referring to?
Oops. Sorry. It’s the tshirt quilt I’m referring to. It’s the first quilt I’ve made, am working on fabric selection, and wonder if I should include consideration for border fabric also.
The pattern I use doesn’t call for one, but you can always make it your own and add a border.
I am new to sewing, I only got involved because I am in love with quilts and want to make my own. My problem is I cannot stich in a straight line :). Making the 1/4″ and scant 1/4″ seams are so problematic for me. Any suggestions for a newbie?
PS – I totally love your you-tube videos. They are soooo helpful.
Buy a stack of Post-it notes and peel off the bottom layer. Stick the stack of Post-its right in line with the side of your presser foot. That will keep your fabric from going too far to the right. You can also buy a magnet made specifically for this purpose, but Post-its are cheaper.
